The film goes onto to multiple meetings with speech doctors of all kinds that try to find a way to correct the longer term King's stammer that many see him unfit to rule. His wife, future Queen Elizabeth, finds one unorthodox speech therapist, Lionel Logue, who agrees to deal with King George. Many of the more unorthodox methods that he uses is trying to get him read an address while hearing a music track over the headphones. This awkward practice of speech was foreshadow of the items Lionel was capable of helping George accomplish in the speech treatment sessions. Another unusual practice that he performed was looking to use curse words to demonstrate that he is perfectly able to swear since his emotions of anger don't trigger his stammering speech.
The King's relationship together with his family is different from those of his wife and Lionel. His relation to its his brother is distant and contains no manifestation of warmth or compassion towards each other. His brother has decided that life being a King just isn't what he's planned for himself, but a far more luxurious life regarding his girlfriend from America. George's relationship regarding his father is another little cold since his father always pushed him to communicate normally in the most profound ways. His father's death has not been welcoming for George in the slightest though he strives to lead the nation just like he did. King George goes onto visit Lionel for additional speech treatment as a way to fix his speech impediment before he's crowned the newest King of England.
